Spring Steelhead Fishing 
SteelHead Trophy Room

  • Spring Steelhead Season runs from Mid-March through approximately April 20th. 

  • We are licensed to Steelhead Fish on two stretches of The Main Salmon River along Hwys. 75 and 93; from Torrey's Boat Launch to Kilpatrick's Take-Out. 

  • Summer Fly-Fishing for trout is available from June through August. 

  • Access is by Drift Boat, which accommodates two fishermen and your guide. Included are all rods, reels and tackle. If you prefer to bring your own equipment, we will be happy to make specific recommendations. 

  • Also included is a hearty lunch, life jackets and vehicle shuttle. 

  • We will assist you with lodging arrangements in challis at your own expense.

High Mountain Lake Fishing

  • This special feature can be highlighted in most all trips. If you are an avid fly fisherman or only a novice, please don't hesitate to let us know and we will design each day's destination with fishing as the primary activity.

  • If you do not have the proper equipment than we can help. We do not only have fly-fishing but also spinning outfits, which you can rent.

  • Expect to catch cutthroat, rainbow and brook trout.

  • Don't forget your Idaho Fishing License. You can purchase your three-day license upon arriving in Challis from a number of local vendors

Combination Pack-Trip/ Hot Springs Soak/Scenic Float

  • This custom trip offers the best of everything! After arriving in Challis, the following day we will first schedule a guided/catered three-day pack trip into our base camp, right under Castle Peak. 

  • From here you will have the opportunity to take photos, enjoy scenery, view wildlife and do some fishing in one of the nearby alpine lake chains.

  • After enjoying two nights in our comfortable camp, we will depart the high country for Challis and the Salmon River. Since we arrange for a full day in between trips, there will be plenty of time to enjoy a swim/soak at the historic Challis Hot Springs courtesy of White Cloud Outfitters.

  • The next day, you will launch on the famous River of No Return for a two-day catered float with your experienced boatman/guide.

  • All of your riverside camping gear will be provided except your sleeping bag. 

  • This is a great combination trip especially for those new to this area!
