White Cloud Outfitters welcomes you to the Heart of Central Idaho and the famous Salmon River Country! White Cloud Outfitters is based out of Challis Idaho, which was originally discovered in 1822 by a trapping party in search of beaver pelts. Challis is well known for its multitude of outdoor recreation activities available on public lands surrounding this small community of about 1,000 residents. From here, you can access the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and the remote road less country known as the White Cloud Mts. in less than an hour travel time from White Cloud Outfitter's year round location.

Mike Scott and Louise Stark have been in business as White Cloud Outfitters since 1987 when they expanded their roles as big game guide and cook to include that of full time licensed outfitters. 

Mike and Louise invite you to join them as their guests. Whether you choose to fish for ocean run steelhead in the spring, see the backcountry on a customized family summer horse pack trip or hunt for big game; we can get you there! With our experienced staff of knowledgeable guides, our own seasoned mountain horses and special attention to details, your trip is sure to exceed your every expectation.

It is the mission of White Cloud Outfitters to facilitate the public’s use and enjoyment of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area in a manner that will have minimal impact on the resource while providing a safe, high quality outdoor experience for the public. The emphasis of our service is placed upon individual attention, small groups and family participation.
